URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT: ALL YMCA WA RECREATION CENTRES CLOSING 12 NOON TODAY, 23 MARCH 2020

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, in the interest of public health and safety, the YMCA WA gyms, pools and leisure centres will be closed until further notice. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following the advice provided by the relevant Government Health Departments.

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause our valued customers. However, the health of our members, staff and the wider community is paramount. It is in everyone’s best interests for centres to close to reduce the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, we are not able to let you know a reopening date, but we will be liaising closely with Government authorities and will keep you informed.

We understand these are worrying times and the impact of COVID-19 on the community is widespread. All YMCA WA memberships and enrolments will be automatically suspended, and all direct debits will be placed on pause indefinitely. If you are a YMCA WA member, further information will be emailed to you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

How is the Y keeping members safe?

We are following the directives from the Government Health Departments and from 12 noon Monday 23 March, the YMCA WA gyms, pools and leisure centres will be closed until further notice.

What happens to memberships?

Memberships will be automatically suspended, and you will not have to pay while the service is shut down. Your local centre will be contacting all members directly with more information.

I have membership/function booking queries, what do I do?

What should I do if I have COVID-19/flu-like symptoms?

If you feel unwell, we ask you do not attend the centre and if necessary seek medical advice.

What should I do if I, or a family member, have been potentially exposed to COVID-19?

If you, or anyone in your family, may have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask you do not attend the centre and if necessary seek medical advice.

What should I do if I, or a family member, is diagnosed with COVID-19?

If you have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) and have visited our centre recently, please contact Head Office at enquiries@ymcawa.org.au and your local centre via phone or email immediately.

What would happen if someone is reported to have COVID-19?

The Y will be notified by the affected person(s) and/or Department of Health. The Y’s recreation centre would then cease trade at that location, advise other members that may have come in contact with the affected person(s) and conduct a full deep clean to required standards. We expect this process to take around 48 hours and would seek the Department of Health approval to commence trade.
