On Saturday January 21 YMCA WA Warnbro will be hosting an exciting and one-off open day, to give locals the chance to witness their ‘New Year New Me’ centre make-over look.
The open day will take run from 8am-11am, with sample gym classes run by gym instructors, children’s gymnastics classes, Thriving Threes and Fun for Fours programs and the crèche operating throughout the entire morning.
All of these activities will be completely free with no registrations required for anyone who wants to participate – and Centre Manager Dawn Edgar says there’s something for everyone in the family!
“The crèche will be open between 8am-11am so any parents wanting to do the classes can, or if the kids are five and upwards they can do the gymnastics instead - there’s really the opportunity for everyone to actively participate on the day,” Dawn said.
“Our qualified gym instructors will be running sample classes starting with Body Step at 8am, then Body Pump at 8:30am, Body Attack at 9am, Body Combat at 9:30am, Pilates at 10am and Body Balance at 10:30am.”
All of these sample classes are free and barring the Pilates, all classes are part of the regular group fitness program included in the gym membership.
“We’ve also got the $7 for a 7 day trial offer for memberships ongoing and if anyone wants to sign up on the day there’ll be no pro rata, no joining fee and they’ll receive the rest of January for free,” Dawn explained.
The open day will be a very family friendly event, with face painting on offer from 9:30am-10:30am, and teachers of the Thriving Threes and Fun for Fours school readiness programs on deck to showcase the workbooks and other fantastic things kids do in the programs.
Along with all of the activities on offer, YMCA WA Warnbro are proud to show off their brand new look.
“We want to showcase our recent refurbishment, we want to show how modern looking we are and we’d love to encourage memberships, enrolments into the kids programs and pilates / yoga classes that we run,” Dawn said.
