Pitch Please! is an easy to enter pitch competition for young entrepreneurs with a focus on the creative sector.

A swag of prizes, including $1000 cash to inject into your business or project, 12 months free access to your very own office space located in HQ’s new Co-Working space and access to professional, experienced mentors, specifically matched to your requirements to help you develop and maximise the potential of your idea.


HOW TO ENTER

The Pitch Please! Competition has three stages;

  1. The Pitch Please! info night and business basics workshop -  an information night followed by a free workshop at YMCA HQ in Leederville, delivered by the Small Business Development Corporation on the 6th of July 2017.  At the info night you will be told everything you need to know to enter the competition and to get your small business rolling!
  2. Submit your application – after you have attended the info night you will need to get submit your application. Applications can be submitted (via our online application process or via email) from the 22nd June until 5pm on the 17th July. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the sector, and up to five finalists will be selected.
  3. The finalists will then be matched with a suitable professional mentor with extensive industry and business experience to help them further develop their idea and turn it into a 5 minute pitch to be delivered at the official Pitch Please! finals event at YMCA HQ in front of the competition judging panel and an VIP audience of invited guests.   Finalists will also have the opportunity to attend a series of workshops to assist with the development and delivery of their pitch.

First Prize - 12 months free membership to the YCollaborate co-working space at YMCA HQ, discount use of other HQ spaces (Gig Space, Gallery, and Studio), access to mentors and workshops and a $1000 cash injection for their business, idea or project.

Applications must be in by 5pm on the 17th July.

Terms & Conditions Y Collaborate Application

  1. By submitting a completed entry form you are acknowledging your agreement to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Applications are open from the 22nd June 2017 until 5pm 17th July 2017. To be considered for the program you must successfully submit an entry submission to YMCA HQ by the close of the application period.
  3. To be considered for the competition, the entrant must be;
    1. Between the ages of 17-25 (inclusive)
    2. Be able to actively participate in workshops held at YMCA HQ as part of the program (dates to be provided).
    3. If selected as a competition finalist, be prepared and able to present their project pitch at the Pitch Please! finals event at YMCA HQ on the 3rd of August 2017
  4. The application will be accessed by a panel of judges comprised of industry professionals. The Successful Applicant’s will be selected on the merit of their idea, application strength and ability to participant in the competition program. All decisions by the judging panel final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Applicants are restricted to one application per person/team and idea.
  6. Applicants warrant that all the information of the application is true and correct and that the entrant is the owner of all intellectual property involved, or where they are not the owner they have clearly identified any intellectual property they don’t own and how this will be used, licensed to the entrant or purchased by the entrant.
  7. The final entry will remain the property of the entrant and all documents submitted as part of the entry will not be used by YMCA WA or divulged to any other party without the express written permission of the entrant.
